The Story of the handy marketing company
The Handy Marketing Company is a family-run marketing consultancy based in Suffolk. It was set up in 2020 by Clair Bryant, a Chartered Marketer with over 25 years of experience. What started as a one-woman business during the pandemic has grown steadily through word of mouth, built on trust, flexibility, and a practical approach.
We support businesses of all sizes with strategy, branding, websites, content, and digital marketing. Clair leads each project and brings in a network of trusted freelancers and consultants when needed. Her brother Matt joined the team in 2025 as a business consultant, bringing his experience in education and course development.
We’re not a big agency and don’t act like one. You get honest advice, clear communication, and support that fits around your business: not the other way around.

Clair Bryant CMktr - Founder & Managing Director
Clair started The Handy Marketing Company in 2020 to give businesses access to straight-talking, practical marketing support. She’s a Chartered Marketer with over 25 years of experience working across sectors like tourism, manufacturing, and pharma.
She’s hands-on with every project and brings a mix of strategy, design, content, and digital know-how. Clients value her honest approach and ability to make marketing feel less overwhelming.
Clair leads a trusted team of freelancers and enjoys mentoring other business owners. She’s constantly learning and testing new tools to keep things fresh.

Matt Bryant - Business Consultant
Matt brings over 20 years of experience in education, specialising in business and enterprise. He’s led departments, developed courses, and supported thousands of students and educators.
At The Handy Marketing Company, he focuses on course marketing, content development, and helping clients structure and promote training offers. His background means he knows what makes learning materials effective and how to reach the right audience.
He’s also Clair’s older brother, and has supported the business behind the scenes for years before officially joining the team.

Nelly Bryant - Director of Happiness
Nelly is Clair’s black Labrador and the unofficial boss of the office. She takes her meet-and-greet duties seriously, welcoming visitors with a tail wag and a hopeful look for snacks.
She’s calm most of the time, but the post arriving is her personal highlight of the day: nothing gets past her. She’ll patrol the office, steal the odd biscuit, and nap in inconvenient spots, usually right in the middle of everything.
She’s gentle, loyal, and a bit cheeky. Whether she’s snoozing under a desk or popping up on video calls, Nelly keeps the mood light and the team smiling.
